Unraveled at The Seams

By Olivia Ross

I sewed myself together at the seams,
a patchwork quilt of half-forgotten dreams.
But every stitch I placed with trembling hands
came loose again like shifting desert sands.

The thread unraveled faster than I tied,
each knot a promise that I never kept inside.
I wore my seams like armor, stitched so tight,
but came undone beneath the weight of night.

My edges frayed, my center torn apart,
a worn-out fabric wrapped around my heart.
I tried to mend the places I had torn,
but found myself more tattered and more worn.
